How does it actually work?

Find the group that fits, hit the WhatsApp button, send the message it pre-loads for you. One of us reads it and adds you by hand - usually same day, two days tops. No app, no account, no cost, ever.

It is, fully. Not a euro to join any Barcelona People Club group. Your number stays private, the chat stays spam-free, and there's zero advertising inside the groups.

Can I join more than one group?

Definitely - most active members belong to several. Surf at sunrise, cowork by noon, dance until 3am on a Friday? Join Beach Social, Digital Nomads and Nightlife and watch your notifications stack up.

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

No group goes past 250 members, and every single one has an active moderator. Spam, crypto shilling, or random off-topic links get deleted on sight, and repeat offenders get removed. We keep these chats small on purpose.

I'm only in Barcelona for 5 days. Worth joining?

Yes - the Tourists - 10 Days group was built for exactly that window. You'll likely get a dinner invite, someone to split the airport taxi with, and a handful of locals pointing you to the beach bar everyone actually goes to, all within your first day.

I don't have WhatsApp. Another option?

WhatsApp runs daily life here - taxis, surf lessons, Vespa rentals, doctor visits, all of it. If you're staying any length of time, it's worth the download. Can't install it at all? Reach out via the contact page instead and we'll find a workaround.

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

We check before we add. New members send one intro message - photo, first name, hometown, the group they want - and a moderator reviews it before letting them in. Harassment or scam reports get someone removed on the spot. Think of it as neighbors vouching for neighbors, not a business listing.

Barcelona People Club is kept alive by long-time residents and regular visitors who didn't want anyone starting out here alone. One WhatsApp thread in 2021 turned into ten groups we now run ourselves - a passion project, not a business.
